Full-Stack Developer & Designer
Hello, I'm Geoff, a full-stack developer and entrepreneur with a passion for building robust, secure systems. For the past three years, I've been running my own hosting business alongside offering website and application development services to clients. Before launching my own venture, I honed my skills as a software engineer at Proximity Space, Inc., where I gained valuable experience working on tasks related to their enterprise application and collaborating with talented teams.
While I've worked extensively with PHP throughout my career, I've recently shifted my focus to Rust for backend development. There's something compelling about Rust's approach to memory safety and performance that aligns perfectly with my commitment to building reliable systems. Currently, I'm deep into developing a Rust project specifically designed to enhance the security of my existing infrastructure—it's the kind of challenge that gets me excited about the future of web technology. Whether I'm optimizing server performance, architecting new applications, or diving into the latest security protocols, I'm driven by the belief that great software should be both powerful and trustworthy.

My professional journey and key milestones
Self-Employed • June 2021 - Present
Running a hosting business providing reliable web hosting services for clients including gfconsulting.org. Managing server infrastructure, implementing security measures, and developing custom solutions in Rust.
InVita Healthcare Technologies • Mar 2023 - May 2024
Developed AWS Lambda functions and contributed to the main application code for their blood donation platform. Worked on scalable healthcare solutions with a focus on reliability and performance.
Proximity Space, Inc. • Previous Role
Worked on their enterprise application that assisted coworking spaces in serving their own customers with subscriptions and conference room booking. Developed expertise in web technologies and best practices.
When I'm not writing code, I'm often deep-diving into cybersecurity research, monitoring my hosting infrastructure, or exploring new ways to enhance system security. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, which perfectly complements my hands-on experience running a hosting business.
I find genuine satisfaction in understanding how systems work under the hood and solving real-world security challenges. Whether I'm researching the latest threat vectors, implementing better server hardening techniques, or ensuring optimal uptime for my clients, I prefer learning through practical application rather than theoretical discussions.
